Let's Make Louisiana Great Again
Joshua Morott – For the People, By the People
I’m Joshua Morott — a working-class Christian, single father, and fighter from Louisiana’s 4th District.
Seven years ago my marriage ended. What followed was seven years of destruction at the hands of our family court system: severe parental alienation that has kept me from my 17-year-old son and 11-year-old daughter, an eviction from our family home that left me homeless, multiple arrests simply for trying to see my own children, and the suspension of my insurance and realtor licenses after my ex filed — all while Louisiana battled hurricanes and COVID.
I’ve lived what too many working fathers experience: a system that too often punishes parents who fight to stay in their children’s lives, bankrupts families through endless legal fees, and enables alienation instead of protecting the bond between parent and child.
In 2024, I ran for Congress with almost no money, no staff, and no endorsements. I built my own website and still earned 43,000 votes. I’m running again because someone who has been crushed by these broken systems needs to stand up and demand better.
My Priorities:
• Family Court Reform — End the pay-to-play nightmare. Cap total court and lawyer fees in custody cases at $10,000 maximum so no parent is bankrupted fighting to see their children.
• Strong Parental Rights Amendment
• Real support for veterans and working families
• Education reform that actually works
• End CCS and land grabs
This isn’t about politics. It’s about fixing a system that destroys fathers, mothers, and children every single day.
Louisiana deserves a voice from the trenches — someone who has lived the failures and refuses to stay silent.
