Let's Make Louisiana Great Again
Joshua Morott – For the People, By the People
Working-Class Christian • Single Father • Fighter for Louisiana’s 4th District
I’m Joshua Morott — a working-class Christian, single father, and fighter from Louisiana’s 4th District.
Seven years ago, my marriage ended and the family court system tried to break me. I was evicted from our family home, faced multiple arrests while fighting to see my children, and had my licenses suspended. Through it all, I refused to quit.
I’ve lived what far too many working parents endure: a broken family court system that enables parental alienation, bankrupts families with endless legal fees, and tears children from loving parents.
Our courts rarely consider attachment theory — the science of how children bond with their parents and the long-term damage caused when those bonds are severed. This oversight has created generations of emotional trauma that we continue to pay for as a society.
In 2024, I ran for Congress with almost no money, no staff, and no endorsements. I built my own campaign from the ground up and earned 43,000 votes. Now I’m running again because someone who has lived these failures needs to be in Washington.
MY PRIORITIES
• Family Court Reform — Cap total court and lawyer fees in custody cases at $10,000 maximum. Require courts to consider attachment theory and the importance of both parents in a child’s life.
• Strong Parental Rights Amendment
• Real support for working families and veterans
• Education reform that puts parents first
• End wasteful spending and government overreach
This isn’t about politics as usual. It’s about fixing a system that destroys families and ignores the science of how children actually thrive.
Louisiana deserves a voice from the trenches. Join me.
